On July 20,2021, the Yin Lab, key laboratory of Brain Functional Genomics, Ministry of Education, College of East China Normal University Life Sciences, published two “Side by side” papers in the Journal of Biological Chemistry. which revealed the functions and regulatory mechanisms of calmodulin acetylation in Synaptic plasticity of learning and memory. These results of both studies were highly recommended by the Editors' Picks of JBC, and Roger Colbran, JBC deputy editor, invited Sugimoto and Robison to publish an accompanying commentary, which entitled “Calmodulin acetylation: A modification to remember”. Postdoctoral Fellow Hailong Zhang, doctoral student Bing Zhao, Wei Han; Postdoctoral fellow Hailong Zhang, doctoral student Wei Han, and master student Yinquan Du are co-first authors of the two papers respectively.
